Lot #473 - Ithaca Gun Co. - M 1911 A1 - U.S. Army pistol - .45 acp. - Appears to be about as new in box. - Retains 99%+ medium gray even military phosphate type finish; some slight scuffing primarily on left slide.  Original markings legible, “FJA” & “P” on left frame stamped through the finish.  Clawson's book indicates that the s/n was stamped through the parkerizing on this era Ithaca, and I can't tell for certain if that's the case, although the s/n is quite distinct.  Barrel exterior about 97% black finish.  Working; excellent bore & checkered plastic grips. - In a plain cardboard box labeled on top “One Cal. 45 Auto Pistol M1911-A1 / … (etc.) … / ITHACA GUN COMPANY, INC.”  Per Clawson's book this s/n range went to Commanding Officer, Longue Pointe Ord.
